Russia to Offer Visa-Free Entry for Indians by Spring 2025

Russia implemented visa-free entry for all Indian citizens looking to visit the country on October 29, 2024. Moscow anticipates the arrival of the initial groups of visa-free tourists from India by the spring of 2025.
Talks aimed at preparing for visa-free group tourist movements between the two countries commenced in June 2024. The persistence of Nikita Kondratyev, the respected Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects at the Russian Economic Development Ministry, to conclude the pact before the close of the year has successfully paid off.
The purpose of this visa-free arrangement for Indian visitors is to strengthen tourism connections between both nations. Evgeny Kozlov, head of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, remarked that the upcoming agreement is expected to drive up the volume of visitors from India traveling to Russia's capital. He additionally noted that India ranked among the top five nations for e-visas last year, receiving 9,500 electronic visas, which accounted for 6% of all electronic visas issued to foreign travelers in Russia. In addition, 1,700 e-visas were provided to Indian tourists in January of this year.
This pact will grant Indian nationals traveling for professional or business reasons a seamless journey without complications.
