The World Youth Festival took place in Sochi from 29th February to 7th March 2024. During this major gathering, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov shared his positive outlook regarding a prospective pact between Russia and India for the reciprocal recognition of higher education degrees. Alipov noted that they feel confident about securing a deal with India to guarantee the mutual validation of their qualifications, noting the rising volume of Indian scholars undertaking university studies in Russia.

This kind of validation would enable graduates from either nation to work professionally without needing extra coursework. Alipov pointed out that Russia has issued visas to more than 8,000 Indian students.

Russia was the venue for the World Youth Festival, which drew in upwards of 20,000 attendees representing around 190 nations.
