Orenburg State Medical University (OrSMU) recently hosted the Orientation Ceremony to greet incoming students for the 2022-23 academic session. The event was broadcast live across multiple social media channels of Ashiraj MBBS and the institution.

The event featured Associate Prof. Dr Mironchev Anton, Dean for International Students, welcoming the cohort and outlining their future student experience at OrSMU. Alongside Prof. Anton, Air Marshal Dr Pawan Kapoor, Vice Chairman Ashiraj MBBS, and Dr Dinesh Singla, Director of Ashiraj MBBS, participated in the event from India.

The opening remarks of the event were delivered by Air Marshal Dr Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Vice Chairman of Ashiraj MBBS. He congratulated the participants on selecting OrSMU to fulfill their ambition of becoming physicians and wished them success on this path.

Continuing the address, Prof. Dr Mironchev Anton also greeted the incoming batch of learners who will soon arrive at the campus to pursue their medical careers. He further highlighted the significance of the medical profession along with the prospects, achievements, and respect it brings for those willing to persevere through challenges.

He additionally briefed the attendees on their upcoming transition. He noted that students would likely reach the campus by mid-October, with lectures officially beginning on 1st November 2022. In the interim period, participants must complete administrative formalities and mandatory medical examinations.

Regarding the first-year academic syllabus, he explained that students need a foundational understanding of Russian and therefore study it as a first-year subject. Additionally, Latin, being the language of the field, is introduced right from the start. First-year subjects comprise Medical Biology, Physiology, Histology, Anatomy, Pathology, Biological Physics, Biochemistry, Nursing, and others. Anatomy is further divided into clinical and topographical branches to provide practical exposure.

He also mentioned that the advanced simulation facility on campus mirrors the one utilized at Max Super Speciality Hospital, India, ensuring an interactive learning environment. Furthermore, he outlined the rules and guidelines that participants must follow during their stay and education at the university.

Beyond academics, he underscored the importance of physical well-being and the provisions made by the institution to maintain it. He noted that students regularly engage in physical conditioning through fitness centers and seasonal athletic activities throughout the year.

Once on campus, learners are categorized into batches of 15 and receive schedules accordingly. This strategy allows the university to maintain ideal class sizes and prevent overcrowding.

The entire admission procedure of the institution relies on marks secured in class-12 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, NEET results, and current directives issued by the National Medical Commission of India (NMC).

Towards the conclusion, Dr Dinesh Singla addressed various questions regarding required textbooks. He mentioned that all suggested titles are available on campus, and if needed, Ashiraj MBBS can supply these materials in digital formats.

He further reassured participants that Ashiraj MBBS will continuously provide backing and look after all their requirements throughout their education.

The program concluded successfully, providing all newly admitted students with essential guidance regarding their upcoming path while giving aspirants a glimpse into the campus and student life.
