A public notice was issued by the NTA on June 06, 2024, directed at applicants to address their questions concerning the NEET (UG) 2024 results announced on June 04, 2024.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administered the NEET (UG) 2024 on 05 May 2024

starting from 02:00 to 05:20 P.M. (IST) across 4750 centers located in 571 cities (which included 14 international cities) for over

24 lakh applicants.

The following points were addressed and clarified by the NTA for the participants:

1. Cut-off of NEET (UG) 2024

The qualifying cut-off scores for NEET (UG) 2024 are established annually based on student performance. This year's rise in the cut-off highlights the intense rivalry in the test and the superior scores attained by the participants. Out of

720, the average marks for successful candidates stood at 323.55, featuring an average score of 164. By comparison, the average marks in 2023 were 279.41 with an average score of 137, pointing to a substantial rise in the cut-off threshold.

2. Compensatory marks for loss of time

Apprehensions were voiced by students who encountered interruptions during the test, leading to lost examination time during the administration of NEET (UG) 2024 on 05.05.2024. The NTA evaluated the complaints and provided compensation to 1563 students for the wasted time determined by their performance. The adjusted scores range from -20 to 720.

3. Toppers in NEET (UG) 2024

The larger volume of test-takers for NEET (UG) 2024 naturally resulted in fiercer competition. This year, the NTA processed 13,373 objections against the Provisional Answer Key stemming from discrepancies across NCERT textbook editions, leading to 44 participants obtaining 720/720. Furthermore, 6 students attained a flawless score as a result of grace marks awarded for time lost.

4. Declaration of Results while maintaining Transparency in the examination process

In line with established protocol, the NTA follows specific guidelines to uphold openness across all tests, including NEET (UG). Every essential detail is communicated to candidates through Advance City Intimation, Admit Cards, examination guidelines, publishing digital copies of OMR sheets along with recorded responses, welcoming challenges to Provisional Answer Keys, releasing Final Answer Keys on the official portal, and delivering digital OMR Answer Sheets and Score Cards via email.

5. Unfair Means cases

The NTA has enforced rigorous standards in administering the test by strictly following protocols, which involve disqualifying candidatures and barring individuals from subsequent tests when appropriate. Proceedings against imposters have been officially filed, with assistance provided wherever necessary. Moreover, the NTA safeguards the security of the examination, confirming that zero question paper leaks took place throughout the testing procedure.

Through this official statement, the NTA resolved all questions posed by aspirants concerning NEET (UG) 2024, thereby reaffirming the integrity of the evaluation procedure.
