Leading by Example: Dr. Pawan Kapoor’s Impact Recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award
November 5th, 2024 marked a historic occasion for Ashiraj MBBS when our distinguished Technical Advisor, Air Marshal (Dr.) Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), AVSM, VSM, and BAR, was honored with the esteemed “Lifetime Achievement Award in the Healthcare Industry” at the FICCI 16th Healthcare Excellence Awards 2024. This significant milestone honors his extraordinary dedication to medical excellence.
The remarkable journey of Dr. Pawan Kapoor in healthcare and medical education has been defined by steadfast dedication, outstanding vision, and visionary leadership. He wrapped up his notable military career as the Director-General of Medical Services (IAF), an office he maintained until his retirement on December 31, 2017.
Serving as the Chairman of the Steering Committee at NABH and the Honorary Vice Chancellor of Lincoln American University, Georgetown in Guyana, he delivered exceptional contributions that elevated benchmarks across healthcare and medical education. Furthermore, Dr. Kapoor played a pivotal role in formulating strategic plans for the AMC Centre & College in Lucknow and enhancing recruitment processes to satisfy increasing demands for medical officers.
Over the course of his professional life, Dr. Kapoor has received a multitude of honors and distinctions, such as the Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) in 2009 and 2017, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2018, and the COAS Commendation in 1981, 2004, and 2008. His recognitions include standing as the sole AFMS officer to win the esteemed Col. Pyarelal Gold Medal alongside accepting the Order of Royal Emblem from the Sultan of Oman in 1984.
Following his retirement, Dr. Kapoor stepped into the position of Technical Advisor at Ashiraj MBBS, where his knowledge and passion have played a crucial part in defining the educational paths of numerous future physicians. Through his priceless advice and constant dedication, he has raised the level of medical education assistance at Ashiraj MBBS, making certain that learners obtain top-tier materials and chances to succeed professionally.
