Indian Medical Students in Russia Celebrated Diwali 2022

Diwali stands as one of the largest and most eagerly awaited celebrations for individuals across India. At its core, the holiday represents a joyful observance filled with illumination, cheer, and positivity. To mark the occasion, Ashiraj MBBS organized a magnificent Diwali event on October 24, 2022, tailored for all Indian scholars enrolled in premier public medical institutions in Russia.
Working together with multiple Russian medical institutions, specifically Perm State Medical University, Mari State University, and Orenburg State Medical University, Ashiraj MBBS hosted a major Diwali gathering directly on the campuses.
A number of notable individuals attended the festivities, such as Prof. Shvetsov Mikhail, Rector, and Mr. Rohit Choudhary, Indian student representative at Mari State University, alongside Ms. Anna Mikhaylovna Bocharova, Pro-Rector, and Dr. Vikas Saxena, Vice Dean of Perm State Medical University.
Indian pupils, alongside their peers from Russia, took an enthusiastic part in the event. Everyone dressed in classic Indian garments. The proceedings began with a conventional prayer service featuring devotional hymns dedicated to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. The entire location was adorned with glowing lights, vibrant blossoms, and traditional oil lamps.
Following this, attendees enjoyed dynamic acts put on by university scholars who proudly displayed their dancing skills, bringing even more vibrance to the occasion. The youth danced to upbeat music alongside their newly made friends. The evening concluded with everyone delighting in colorful sparklers and festive fireworks outdoors.
This large-scale event served as one of several cultural observances for the numerous Indian learners who recently traveled to Russia for their medical degrees. This group also included hundreds of students previously displaced from Ukraine who marked the holiday alongside their new academic community.
All three institutions streamed the event live across various social media networks, allowing concerned parents back in India to participate virtually in the festivities.
The gathering once more highlighted the strong bilateral and cultural ties connecting the two nations, offering learners a wonderful chance to observe traditional Indian holidays while residing in Russia.
