Before You Begin: Know Your NEET 2026 Registration Timeline

The National Testing Agency has already announced the key dates for the NEET 2026 application process. Note them down early so that you never rush at the last moment.

NEET 2026 Registration Opened: February 8, 2026

NTA NEET 2026 Registration Last Date: March 8, 2026, until 9 PM

Last Date to Pay Fees: March 8, 2026, until 11.50 PM

Correction Window: March 10 to March 12, 2026

NEET 2026 Exam Date: May 3, 2026

The official NEET 2026 Registration Link is available only at neet.nta.nic.in. Always verify that you are on the official site because several fake portals are active during registration seasons.

Step 1: Prepare the Required Documents Before Opening the Portal

Opening the portal without your documents ready often leads to rushed decisions. Collect and check everything beforehand.

You will need:

  • Aadhaar Card linked to your active mobile number,
  • Class 10 Marksheet for verifying date of birth,
  • Scanned passport photo and postcard-size photo in the specified size,
  • Scanned signature and full set of fingerprints,
  • Category or EWS or PwBD certificates, if required, and
  • A valid method of payment, such as a card, net banking, or UPI.

Keep all files labelled clearly and saved in a separate folder so you do not upload the wrong file during the process.

Step 2: Begin with New Registration on the Official NEET 2026 Portal

When the portal opens, click on the NEET UG 2026 Registration Link and choose New Registration.

You will enter details like:

  • Your full name,
  • Mobile number,
  • Email address,
  • Date of birth, and
  • Other information exactly as per official documents.

After registration, you will receive your Application Number. Save it in multiple places. You will use this number for every future login.

Step 3: Complete Aadhaar based e-KYC for NEET 2026 Registration

The NEET 2026 application form requires candidates to verify their identity through Aadhaar based e KYC. This is a real-time verification step that uses OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

If your Aadhaar and mobile are not linked, the portal will not let you continue. Make sure this is updated in advance.

Step 4: Fill the NEET 2026 Application Form Carefully

Once you log in using your Application Number, fill each section with complete attention.

You will enter your personal details, your academic history, Class 10 and Class 12 information, address, and identification proof.

Students often make small errors in spelling of name, date of birth, mother’s name, or school details. Double-check everything with certificates before saving.

Step 5: Uploading Photo, Signature, and Biometrics Without Errors

It is crucial to know how to update biometrics for NEET 2026, and uploading photo and signature. Incorrect uploads have historically been one of the most common causes of form rejection. NEET 2026 has added additional verification layers, including live photos and fingerprints.

NEET 2026 Live Photo Capture Guidelines

NTA requires candidates to click a live photograph through the portal. This must be taken in real time using your phone camera or webcam.

Important rules for your live photo:

  • Stand against a plain white background,
  • Face should occupy 80 percent of the frame,
  • Both ears should be visible, and
  • Avoid filters, shadows, or tinted glasses.

If your webcam does not work, you can scan the portal QR code and capture the live photo using your mobile.

Uploading Signature and Fingerprints

Upload a clear signature in blue or black ink.

Upload fingerprints of all ten fingers.

Step 6: Select Exam Cities and Review Your Application

Choose three preferred exam cities in order of convenience. This decision matters because you want the least stress on exam day.

Review every single detail before you reach the payment page. Small spelling errors at this stage can save you a lot of trouble later.

Step 7: Pay the Application Fee and Download Confirmation

You can pay the NEET 2026 application fee via UPI, net banking, or card.

If the payment screen shows failure, do not make another payment immediately. NTA has advised students to wait and recheck their status first.

Once payment is successful, download and print the confirmation page and keep it safe.

Step 8: Use the NEET 2026 Correction Window Wisely

The correction window will open from March 10 to March 12. You can correct some fields, but not everything.

You cannot usually change Aadhaar details or biometric uploads. This is why careful first-time entry is very important.

Final Thoughts

Filling out the NEET 2026 application form is the first official step toward your medical career. If you prepare documents early, follow the Aadhaar-based eKYC process correctly, respect the live photo guidelines, and review every entry, you will complete the form smoothly and confidently.
