Following the nation's enthusiastic observance of the Holi festival, Indian medical undergraduates pursuing their MBBS in Russia at a premier public institution, Mari State University (MarSU), similarly marked the festive occasion in Yoshkar-Ola, located in the Mari El Republic of Russia.
Mari State University remains a favored destination for Indian scholars, valued equally for its academic excellence and its vibrant, engaging campus culture. The institution routinely hosts events for diverse cultural celebrations, most recently highlighted by a large-scale gathering for Holi.
This holiday is observed nationwide under various titles including Dhulendi, Rangpanchami, Phaguwa, Yaosang, Dol Jatra, Ukuli / Manjal Kuli, Dola, Shigmo, and Phakuwah, serving as a widely awaited occasion for individuals across all generations.
The event was arranged by the Indian Students Association alongside Ashiraj MBBS on the MarSU grounds. The festivities brought together over 1,600 Indian learners, which included medical students who had returned to India from Ukraine.
The gathering welcomed the university Rector, Prof. Mikhail Nikolaevich Shvetsov, who participated in the activities and enjoyed the festival of colors alongside the student body and academic staff. He was accompanied by Dr. Rohit Chaudhary, the Indian student representative at MarSU, who worked diligently to ensure student comfort and provide all required provisions.
