Exam Date and Schedule: Two Shifts in One Day
The FMGE June 2026 exam will be held in a computer-based format across two shifts on the same day. The morning shift is expected from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, while the afternoon shift will run from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
The exam is conducted twice a year (typically in June and December), giving candidates multiple chances to qualify.
Registration and Admit Card: Awaiting Official Notification
While the exam date has been confirmed through the NBEMS calendar, detailed timelines for registration, admit card release, and application correction windows are yet to be officially announced.
Based on previous trends, the application process is expected to begin a few months before the exam. Moreover, the admit cards will be released shortly prior to the test date.
Candidates are strongly advised to monitor the official NBEMS website for verified updates, as schedules may be revised.
Exam Pattern and Qualifying Criteria
FMGE is conducted in two parts (Part A and Part B), each containing 150 multiple-choice questions. This makes a total of 300 questions.
To qualify, candidates must secure at least 150 marks out of 300 (50%), which is the fixed passing criterion.
Why FMGE Matters for Medical Graduates
FMGE serves as a mandatory licensing examination for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) candidates who have earned their primary medical qualification from institutions outside India.
Clearing this exam is essential for obtaining provisional or permanent registration with medical councils in India, which makes it a decisive step in a doctor’s career journey.
Final Word
Students should treat the NBEMS website as the only official source of truth for updates. Staying informed and preparing early will be key for aspirants aiming to clear the FMGE June 2026 in one attempt.
