Ashiraj MBBS Conducted Live Session With Rector of Mari State University

On July 06, 2023, Ashiraj MBBS hosted a live broadcast featuring the distinguished Rector of Mari State University, Prof. Shvetsov Mikhail N. Throughout the broadcast, they explored multiple subjects concerning the institution, available courses, housing options, international student security, and additional topics.
The event commenced with an opening speech by Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Vice Chairman of Ashiraj MBBS, who greeted guests Prof. Shvetsov Mikhail N., Rector of Mari State University, and Ms. Natalia N. Kanashina, Head of the International Department of Mari State University, along with the students and parents viewing from home. In his introductory remarks, Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor (Retd.) remarked, “The right source of information comes from the source itself.”
This live interaction with the Rector addressed multiple dimensions of pursuing an MBBS at Mari State University, student safety in Russia for foreign nationals, especially Indians, the credential granted upon graduation, and other related matters. Numerous inquiries were addressed to clear up uncertainties for Indian students and parents looking into MBBS programs in Russia. Although the Rector answered as many questions as possible, key points of clarification included:
- Mari State University upholds values of multi-ethnic diversity, intercultural blending, fairness, and equal treatment without prejudice.
- It provides a 6-year MBBS curriculum that incorporates a 1-year internship, entirely taught in English.
- The MBBS program at Mari State University operates on a semester structure lasting 6 months each, culminating in an assessment test at the conclusion of every semester.
- Upon finishing the 6-year program, a comprehensive final examination takes place, granting MBBS and MD students eligibility for their Diploma.
- Graduates may take an accreditation test to secure a license for practicing medicine in Russia. Medical practice in Russia starts at the polyclinic level, meaning graduates are not immediately placed in hospitals. Once the polyclinic training is finished, graduates begin working as autonomous yet monitored physicians across different Russian hospitals.
- Medical learners at Mari State University receive extensive practical clinical experience.
- Coaching for the FMGE and NExT exams is provided right at the university throughout the MBBS program.
The Rector additionally highlighted the possibility for Indian scholars to transfer to Mari State University to continue their education, provided they submit their official academic transcripts for enrollment in the Russian MBBS program.
